Die Robot is an electronic rock trio from Portland, Oregon. This is future rock in a post-industrial age. Their sound straddles rock and electronic with a wide appeal. Unique, haunting, and romantic, Die Robot is full of angst and soul with the groove of a predatory animal. It all started in the summer of 2012, when former members of Pop Dolls, Vince Christian and Barbie Saint, moved to Portland where they met Angela Johnson. Vince provides powerful vocals, a fierce performance and an intense electronic soundscape. Barbie's strings are dark, mean and passionate, combining not only bass and guitar, but synthesized leads simultaneously. A unique sound accomplished with special gear designed by RetroMechanical Labs. Angela's rhythms fill the dance floor, and her upright electronic set accentuates an engaging performance. Die Robot is nominated for Best Local Band 2016 by the Willamette Week reader in Portland. Recorded by Die Robot and Johnathan Case at RML Studios. Produced by Johnathan Case at Retro Mechanical Labs (RML Studios & FX Pedals) Made in Portland, Oregon

Move Along © Die Robot Music And Lyrics Barbie Saint and Vince Christian

Move along, a new time, a new place, somewhere far runaway with me.

Bitter dreams will lay to waste somewhere down the line In between will see the shine and be the sun we left behind

Bitter dreams will lay to waste somewhere down the line...

Keep on moving on down the line, down the line are we there? ... are we there? In between we'll see the shine and be the sun we left behind Keep on moving on down the line, down the line are we there? ... are we there?

Die Robot

"Die Robot's new sound is really good . The guitar is just heavy enough ,the drums are crisp, vocals rock, and the groove of the bass is like a predatory animal A+ (DJ Horrid). Die Robot makes music, combining electro-rock, dark wave, future wave.

Die Robot started on the summer of 2012, when former members of Pop Dolls and long time songwriters buddies, Vince Christian and Barbie Saint, moved to Portland where they meet Mallory Hamilton at a video store. Mallory played pretty much every instrument, to finally officially became the band's keyboards, electro drums, sampler synth queen and she also plays tenor sax in some songs. One night watching the first Alien's movie, at the part where Ellen Ripley is fighting the human looking robot that wouldn't die, Barbie Saint yells at the screen Die Robot! and they decided right there, that'd be their band name. Their first official show was October 17, 2012. Mallory was not 21 yet so they play numerous shows at the Red Room, a venue that allowed Mallory to hangout without drinking after the shows. A year later and after playing as a trio in places like the Star Theater, Mount Tabor Theater, East End, The Lovecraft Bar, etc they meet Angela Johnson and she joins Die Robot in drums. Charles Beasley joins the band in guitars a few month after Angela. In the summer of 2014 they record their first EP, Die Robot. Charles leaves the band due to medical issues but he still remains a really closed friend and a recording collaborator. They released their EP at a packed Star Theater for Hive on September 07. 2014.

Die Robot makes music that is described as electro-rock, dark wave, electroclash and future wave. Recently they've added a new band member, Josh Ketterer on guitar. His style is derived from dark wave and metal music. He is a perfect addition to the Die Robot sound. Their debut album is now available on USB flash drives and CDs, and is available digitally online everywhere. The first single from their debut album "The Underground" was included in The Lovecraft Bar Compilation Record Vol. II. They have played numerous shows in the pacific northwest with incredible turn outs. DR have open for artists like Vince Clark (Depeche Mode, Erasure) and David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) among others.
